Armored Cable Slitter K-ACS
The general-purpose armored slitter: hook it over any round cable from 8 to 28.6 mm, set the blade to the jacket, and draw — the gold roller rides the cable while the blade scores jacket and corrugated armor in one pass, mid-span or at the end, without ever reaching the tubes inside.
Typical work: Mid-span access on armored feeder and distribution cables; End entry into splice closures; Slitting corrugated steel and aluminium armored cables; OSP and backbone cable preparation.

K-ACS key features
- Gold roller, full-size range: the grooved gold guide roller takes cables from 8 to 28.6 mm — feeder, distribution and central tube armored cables — and rolls along the jacket, so the tool travels straight instead of skating across it
- Jacket and armor in one pass: the hardened alloy steel blade scores through the polyethylene jacket and the corrugated copper, steel or aluminium armor together, opening the cable in a single draw
- Depth set to the cable, not guessed: the dial in the butt of the handle drives the blade in or out, to 5.5 mm maximum, so the cut stops at the armor and never reaches the loose tubes and fibers inside
- Slit or ring with one lever: flip the blade 90° to switch between a lengthwise slit and a circumferential ring cut — the two moves of mid-span work, made without changing tools
- Built for the pole and the pit: anodised aluminium and steel construction, a knurled barrel handle that keeps its grip with gloves on, and the hex key for blade changes stored in the body
- Supplied neutral and unbranded as standard; private labeling is made to your requirements — labels with your logo, part numbers and barcodes on the inner boxes and outer cartons, so the goods arrive ready for your warehouse

How the K-ACS opens an armored cable
An armored fiber cable is built to survive the ground it is buried in: a polyethylene jacket over a corrugated steel or aluminium tape, and only inside that shell do the loose tubes and fibers run. Opening it with a knife means sawing at armor you cannot see past, one slip away from the tubes. The slitter replaces the knife edge with a guided one: the cable itself steers the tool, and the blade is allowed exactly as deep as you set it — through the jacket and armor, and no further.
Seat the cable in the hook of the body and bring the gold roller down onto the jacket with the tension knob: the roller's groove centres the cable under the blade. Set the blade protrusion on the dial at the butt of the handle — up to 5.5 mm — to match the jacket and armor thickness, and prove the setting on a scrap end: the score should part the armor cleanly while the tube beneath stays unmarked. Then draw the tool along the cable; the roller rolls, the blade scores, and the jacket and armor open along the line so the shell can be peeled back.
The blade sits on a lever and turns 90°. Aligned with the cable it slits lengthwise; turned across it, it scores a ring. A mid-span window is the two moves combined: ring the cable at both ends of the section you need, slit between the rings, and lift the shell away — the tubes inside are exposed for splicing while the rest of the cable stays armored and closed. At a cable end the same tool simply rings and slits to dress the cable into a closure.
Work inside the range: the gold roller seats cables from 8 to 28.6 mm; below 8 mm the roller cannot sit the cable square and the blade line wanders — that is the red-roller K-ACS-2's work. Brush armor filings out of the roller groove as you go, since a packed groove lifts the blade off its depth. When the blade dulls, wind it back, swap it with the hex key stored in the body, and re-prove the depth on scrap before the next cable.

Questions about the K-ACS
Which cables does the K-ACS fit?
Round jacketed and armored cables from 8 to 28.6 mm outside diameter — feeder, distribution and central tube constructions with corrugated copper, steel or aluminium armor. Below 8 mm, the red-roller K-ACS-2 (4–10 mm) is the right tool.
Can it ring-cut as well as slit?
Yes. The blade sits on a lever that turns it 90°: aligned with the cable it slits lengthwise, turned across it scores a circumferential ring cut. A mid-span window is two ring cuts with a slit between them.
Can the K-ACS carry our own brand?
Private labeling is made to your requirements and confirmed per order — labels with your logo, part numbers and barcodes on the tools, the inner boxes and the outer cartons, ready for your warehouse. The products most often labeled are the K-35 cleaver, the KS-1 Kevlar shears and the K-870 stripper.
Can we order a small lot, unbranded?
Yes. Neutral stock is held for the core range: small lots are welcome, you can mix models in one shipment, and restock as you sell. Prices are on request — EXW factory pricing.
